Where It Started
DigitalStakeout began in 2010 as a project within a state bureau of investigation, built to solve a specific problem: law enforcement teams needed a way to monitor the open internet for threats without relying on manual searches and fragmented tools.
Within weeks of launching, the platform helped recover a human trafficking victim. The information was scattered across the open web the whole time. What had been missing was a system that could find it, keep it, and put it in front of the right people while it still mattered.
More than a decade later, the scale has changed. Our Team
DigitalStakeout is based in Atlanta. The team comes from military intelligence, federal law enforcement, corporate security, and executive protection, and every member is background-screened before joining.
That background shapes the product. The people who build and operate the platform have run threat assessments, investigations, and crisis response themselves, and the workflow reflects how that work gets done: find the content, keep the source, decide what it means, and hand it to whoever owns the response.

DigitalStakeout is privately held and US-based, funded by more than 25 private US investors. An advisory board drawn from the technology and security industries reviews product direction with the leadership team.
